       AMMA Visit SA

Activities

Seva or service is given utmost importance by amma. The devotees guided by Amma take part in a lot of service activities. They include
  • Service at the Leprosy Colony.

The service at the leprosy is done once every month. The Devotees visit the Leprosy colony, join the inmates of the colony in singing Bhajans and other social activities. Divine mother herself intiated this service a few years ago. This service activity has been able to bring the leprosy patients closer to the society and make them feel that they are not an isolated community.

  • Amritha Sinchana --Counselling for the survivours of suicidal attempts.

Amrita Sinchana , is a service activity wherein the trained volunteers visit the local hospitals and meet those patients who are survivours of suicidal attempts. The divine mother ( Amma) says that human being is bound to make mistakes under the shadow of ignorance". So, Amma emphasises that such patients in the hospitals need a good care to get them out of that complex and make them think in the right direction before commiting any such mistakes. The Volunteers meet them everyday and develop a positive sense for living in them. The contact with the patients are maintained even after they come out of the Hospital. The response to this service has been phenomenal. Many of the patients who underwent counselling inturn have been offering services as volunteers in this seva activity.

  • Serving the poor at the Villages.

service is also held at the villages surrounding the ashram site. Every sunday volunteers visit the village, educate the villagers about the cleanliness, sanitation methods and First aid techniques. The women volunteers teach prayers and shlokas to the younger children in the village. Food is also served for the children who attend such services. The children are also provided with the necessary stationaries for their studies.

  • Services at Jail.

The first sunday of every month, devotees visit the central jail in Mysore and meet the inmates. A Satsang is held with an active participation of singing bhajans by inmates. The devotees join them in singing bhajans. The service is followed by serving food for the inmates. Amma has visited the inmates many times and has showered her blessings. This seva activity has been able to build a positive attitude among the inmates to confidentally join back the society after they are release from the jail.

  • Serving the Mentally disabled and hearing Impaired.

Services are also held at orphanages, schools for mentally retarded , schools for the hearing impaired. Amma emphasise that it is only through selfless service can a person get rid of the Ahankara in him. So service is given a priority at Amma's abode.

The Trust has been raising funds for these service activities. To widen the scope of these activities we earnestly requests all those who could contribute to come forward in doing so.

Come one and all, let us join hands in this pious act to make Swami and Amma's vision of Lokakalyana come true.
